The Roots comes to talk with Meadowbank School!

You are all probably thinking 'Who are the Roots?' They are a company that helps save the enviromment. They are all from New Zealand.

What they are trying to do is that instead of recycling bottles, they are using them to make a bottle wave. Here is a picture of a bottle wave:

Over 4,500 students are participating in this event.

Matua Martin who is part of the The Roots came to talk to the school about their project.  They are getting together with many schools around the Auckland to create a eco friendly community art work made of recyclable material with each child writing a message of hope for the upcoming season and festivities.

In each individual bottle will be a message of hope from a student.  They will be assembled together and made in to wave that will e installed at Auckland waterfront’s ‘Gantry’ viewing platform.

What a wonderful project to be apart of.  We are looking forward to putting our messages in a bottle.
